Maki Ota
Maki is a graphic designer and an illustrator. She specialises in visual storytelling including animation, illustration, book design and editorial design. She joined Takram in 2016 to further develop the multidisciplinary nature of her work, while following a coherent creative process. She gained MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins in 2015 after graduating from Musashino Art University with bachelor’s degree in Science of Design. She aims to explore an experimental area of ethnography with her illustration skills. It can reveal and tell stories of people in strong and poetic ways by combining with other design research methods. Her personal project “10 Second Poetry” using rotoscope animation is an example of this.
